Certificate Course on Staff Development (CCSD)

The “Certificate Course on Staff Development” (CCSD) of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) is designed especially for the Lecturers in their probationary period, who are fresh in their career to strengthen their capabilities and competences for their future professional role along the lines of these strategies and specific objectives. It identified that with the recent changes in the university systems, those fresh lecturers ought to develop not only their learning and teaching methodologies, but also to promote the research, administrative capabilities and develop personal skill to enhance their professional skills and values. It developed to focus deliberately on the above aspects with respect to the changing trends of the university system. This course is fully accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as an Induction Program of Staff Development for the Probationary Lecturers in the National Universities of Sri Lanka. Since 2006, we have completed 5 intakes and trained more than 75 lecturers from different national universities from Sri Lanka, including the University of Peradeniya, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, and the Open University of Sri Lanka.
