Profile

Dr. Jagath Edirisinghe graduated from the University of Peradeniya with a BSc (Agriculture) obtaining a second class upper division degree. He was awarded an Mphil degree in Agricultural Economics from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA) in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom for which he was awarded the �Commonwealth Scholarship� on merit basis. His area of specialisation is Agricultural and Food Economics.

 

He started his research carrier as an Agricultural Economist at the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka, where he was involved in many local as well as foreign collaborative researches. He joined the Department of Agribusiness Management in the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management as a lecturer in the year 2005.
